Wilderbee Farm & Mead Werks
One of our favorite local farms, Wilderbee Farm, opens for the season on today!
Open Wednesday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm, we highly recommend you stopping by on a Saturday when Mead Werks is open for tasting, pours, and to purchase bottles. Mead Werks is the farm’s newest addition, a meadery! For those not familiar with mead, it is a fermented beverage made with honey, known as honey wine.
Mead Werks is currently serving is currently serving three types of mead a dry, semi-sweet, and sweet all made with raw, unfiltered blackberry blossom honey. Coming soon is a semi-sweet cyser (mead fermented with juice from organic sweet apples on the farm) and a metheglin (spiced) mead made with orange blossom honey and finished with an infusion of vanilla bean, and more!
Wilderbee Farm is a great place to spend an afternoon in the height of summer and leisurely stroll their u-pick lavender and flower fields.
Drive-in-Movies
The Port Townsend Wheel-In Motor Movies is open for the season and it’s only one of four left in all of Washington State! Enjoy the retro experience and as the weather gets warmer there’s nothing like spending an evening watching a movie under the stars. Avengers End Game is coming to the drive-in soon, so keep your eyes peeled on their website for dates and times! General admission is $9/person.
Port Townsend Wearable Art Show
Port Townsend celebrates women and girls with the most creative fashion show on Saturday, May 11th with the annual Port Townsend Wearable Art Show. Expect to see creations like dresses hand sewn with moss and lichen or records constructed to make a skirt.
This extremely creative and impressive fashion show is a fundraiser for the Fund for Women and Girls whose mission is both simple and important, “a world where women and girls are safe, secure, equal and empowered.” All funds raised from the PT Wearable Art Show go towards deserving nonprofits supporting female empowerment.
The show takes place at Fort Worden on Saturday, May 11th with a matinee and an evening show, 2pm and 7 pm. Purchase tickets at ptwearableart.com.
Chimacum Jewelry Craft Fair
Looking for a last minute gift Mother’s Day gift for mom or grandma? Or maybe just something special for yourself?
Visit Finnriver Cidery for the first annual Chimacum Jewelry Craft Fair on Saturday, May 11th from 12pm to 5pm with creations from 10+ local artists. A portion of the proceeds go to a local nonprofit, the Community Wellness Project.
While you’re at Finnriver, enjoy a cider flight (or two!), listen to live music, walk around the beautiful working farm, or a tasty, and seasonal snack from one of the various food vendors!
Port Townsend Artisan Food Festival
Celebrate our local foods, foragers, fishermen, and farmers at the Artisan Food Festival on May 25th. The annual festival takes place at the Saturday Port Townsend Farmers Market from 9am to 2pm.
Enjoy 70+ local farm, artisan food, cider, wine, and arts and crafts vendors, cheese pairings from Mt.
